Climber finds cat on top of 8,000ft mountain

How did this cat get on top of a mountain ? Image Credit: Facebook / Wojtek Jabczynski
Wojciech Jabczynski couldn't believe his eyes when he found the ginger tabby on Poland's highest peak.
The veteran mountaineer had ascended to the summit of Rysy when he came across the feline.

Despite being stranded over 8,000ft up on the top of the mountain's north-western peak, the cat seemed totally unphased and looked healthy, well-fed and unconcered with its surroundings.

Jabczynski noted that the animal had even approached him as he sat down to eat his lunch.

It isn't clear exactly how it had ended up on the mountain top.

"In my opinion, he came from a small hut for tourists under the Rysy peak on the Slovakian side of the mountain but this is just a hypothesis," said Jabczynski.

Photographs and footage of the adventurous moggy can be viewed on his Facebook page.

My first guess would be that they carried their pet up there, but if people can make it up the mountain I don't see why a cat couldn't.

What was that cat doing up a mountain? Jabczynski noted that the animal had even approached him as he sat down to eat his lunch. Well there's your answer right there. It wa s hoping someone might have some food. What else would it be doing?

Sometimes cats follow people or someone brought the cat to the mountain i hope someone brings it with him down before it gets too cold otherwise it's one cool cat.

there is nothing amazing about it, pretty normal and natural.

So they're saying it didn't get to the mountaintop by phase-shifting, the way my cats would vanish from the living room and suddenly reappear in odd places like bathrooms and closets? Seriously though, try "unfazed".
