Enormous monster-like eel found washed up on a beach in Texas

This is one monster eel... Image Credit: Facebook / Mission-Aransas Reserve
This huge marine creature - a 4-foot-long American eel - has been described as 'basically as big as they get'.
A walk along the shoreline will often yield some interesting things, but for Jace Tunnell of the University of Texas Marine Science Institute, combing the beaches of the Mission-Aransas Reserve is not only a passion, but the subject of a whole series of videos and posts on his Facebook page.

His most recent find is perhaps his most impressive yet - an enormous American eel so large that, unlike most other members of its species, it would have been too big to use as fishing bait.

According to Tunnell, the eel was likely a female adult that had recently laid its eggs off-shore.
"This right here is larger than what you would normally see," he said.

"This is like, basically as big as they get."

I don't have any desire to go near the southern border.   i have family in Houston but I don't want to deal with Houston at this time.  It's been 8 years since I have been there.
