The enormous vegetable, which weighed in at almost 9kg, was unveiled at the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show on Friday.
Grown by Gareth Griffin from Guernsey, the ridiculously over-sized onion was the star of the show's North of England Horticultural Society (NEHS) Giant Vegetable Competition.
It was joined by a plethora of enormous veggies, each vying to be the largest, longest and heaviest.
Veteran grower Paul Proud walked away with several awards for his cabbage, parsnip, carrot, beetroot and cucumber, while Chris Parish's 102kg pumpkin also came out on top.
Growing such enormous vegetables is no easy feat and takes a great deal of skill and patience.
Griffin's 9kg onion, meanwhile, was the star of the show - not only winning in its category but also qualifying for potential entry into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Whether he will return to try and beat his own record next year remains to be seen.
