Guillermo del Toro claims that his Scottish hotel room is haunted

The iconic movie director is staying at the hotel while working on a new adaptation of Frankenstein.
Del Toro is certainly no stranger to directing movies with supernatural elements, having worked on such hits as The Shape of Water and Pan's Labyrinth, among others.

His latest project - a new adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic Frankenstein - is also consistent with this theme.

While working on the new film in Scotland, Del Toro recently made a series of posts on social media claiming that the hotel room he is sleeping in might have its own connection to the supernatural.

"Whilst in Aberdeen, I am staying in an old 1800s hotel," he wrote.

"I am in the most haunted room of it - which was vacated this morning by one of our producers."
"Odd electrical and physical occurrences scared her into leaving asap. "

"Stay tuned - if anything happens I will report."

A couple of days later, he followed this up with another post.

"Nothing has happened yet, but the atmosphere in the room is oppressive and I am not gonna spend much more time there," he wrote.

"It may be suggestion, but at this point I kept it but am sleeping in another room - I need 6 hours of sleep to have a good shooting day - I'm stopping there early and late in the day - but something is in that room with me... "

"If anything happens or nothing does expect one or two more updates."

When I opened my eyes thus morning I heard knocking, strange noises and cracking from the direction of the kitchen. My first thought was, oh nooo my house is haunted! Then I saw ny mother-in-law exploatering to the handyman where to put the new stove.  Frankly speaking, when I opened my eyes i would rather liked to saw the ghosts than my mother-in-law.

I may have mentioned I download films that pique my interest, I'll have a look at this. (I downloaded another film you referenced in a Bigfoot thread (where you recognized Cha-Ka in the Land of the Lost)- since I can do it for free it passes the time in the afternoons). I will say the Land of the Lost is not a great film, imo.

Will Ferrell is no great comedian and I couldn't even finish that dud. He couldn't even rip off Ringo Starr's Caveman properly.  I was talking about the TV series from when I was a kid.

I don't know, it has funny moments. I watched half of Forbidden Planet today- that is seriously weird. I'll watch the rest tomorrow and see if it gets more misogynistic and sexist - so far I have got to Dr Mobius accepting his mini-skirted daughter is going to be the legitimate target of the sex-starved space patrol- there were some very strange attitudes in the 1950s. I'm a Boomer so not 'woke', but it is a bit mind-boggling from a modern perspective.

Never read the book, but as long as we don't get any more of those pasty, winey, ***** SNAG type vampires that were doing the rounds a while back I'll be happy lol. Glad they seem to be out of fashion. I want my Dracula to be like back in the day. Strong, intelligent, cultured and masculine with a bevy of attractive females! lol

My older brother and I loved that show. Even today watching it or just hearing the opening and closing themes makes me feel like a kid again.
