The most recent actor to portray the world-famous MI5 agent has set his sights on a pub with a ghostly reputation.
James Bond is certainly no stranger to drinking establishments, yet it is not the 007 agent himself but the actor who last portrayed him that has made the decision to become the owner of such a venue.
According to reports, 58-year-old Daniel Craig has purchased The Horseshoe - a historic pub dating back some 250 years - which is located in the Clerkenwell area of London.
Far from being a simple bar, however, this particular pub has a rather haunted reputation.
Former employees have told tales of a spirit said to lurk in the building's cellar.
"You don't see him. You feel him," said landlady Pauline Tucker.
The presence of a ghost doesn't seem to have dissuaded the 007 star from completing the sale, however.
"I don't know what he drinks but we might have to leave a pint down there," Craig told
The Times.
He now has plans to refurbish the pub.
As for who will be replacing him in his role as James Bond, however - that is one mystery that is likely to remain unsolved for some time to come.
