Creepy video allegedly shows 'ghost' climbing up a mountain in India

Image: AI-generated (Midjourney) Filmed after dark, the clip, which was reportedly recorded in a mountainous part of India's northern state of Himachal Pradesh, shows what looks like a hooded and cloaked figure in the gloom.

It was posted on X by the user iNikhilsaini and has since racked up hundreds of thousands of views.

"This video is all over social media in Himachal showing a ghost sighting in Mandi area," they wrote.

"One thing is sure, there are many places where people have seen or felt such strange presences. Most probably it may not be an authentic one but have you ever felt any paranormal activity?"

During the clip, the figure - which has glowing eyes - can be seen moving around in the dark while a series of chilling screeches can be heard.

As with many such videos, it difficult to know what the specific circumstances are and there's every possibility that the clip is a hoax.

Even so, it's undeniably creepy - especially with the strange sounds.You can check out the clip for yourself below - what do you think ?

Update:

It turns out that this video has actually appeared on social media before back in November 2025 with a whole other origin story - this time from Tlajomulco, Jalisco where the 'ghost' was said to be some sort of witch of local Mexican legend.

The video likely originated on TikTok and has been picked up multiple times with different stories attached.
