Revisiting the Antarctic 'door' - what could this be and who made it ?

Is this some sort of doorway ? Or something else ? Image Credit: Google Maps Back in March, we published a story about the above image of a peculiar door-like feature which was discovered in Antarctica by eagle-eyed anomaly hunters using Google Maps.

At the time, the image sparked speculation that this could be a doorway to some sort of secretive underground complex (after all, Antarctica would be a good place to hide a clandestine facility).

The Antarctic continent has been the focus of a number of conspiracy theories over the years, with claims of secret extraterrestrial bases, ancient pyramids and other anomalies being nothing unusual.

Some argue that it is an ideal place for alien visitors to hide their presence, while proponents of alternative history believe that Antarctica could even be the site of Atlantis itself.

But does this 'door' really have anything to do with any of these things ?When we posted this up a few months ago, we received a number of possible explanations from our forum users, with some arguing that the image simply shows an exposed piece of ice.

It was also suggested that it could be an entrance to a seed bunker similar to the one on Svalbard.
