Pastor to prove Flat Earth believers wrong with expedition to Antarctica

For a while now, the freezing southern continent of Antarctica has been at the center of this debate because proponents of the idea that the Earth is flat believe that there is a giant wall of ice there (a bit like the one in Game of Thrones) marking the 'edge' of the world.

They also maintain that the day and night cycle is the same in Antarctica as it is away from the poles, even though Antarctica sees periods of several months of darkness and several months of daylight.

The difficulties inherent in accessing Antarctica to check this for themselves, they argue, is evidence of the world's governments 'covering up' the 'truth' about the Earth's flat nature.

Now, though, one man has taken it upon himself to settle this issue once and for all.Colorado pastor Will Duffy is conducting what he calls 'The Final Experiment' by flying a group of eight people to Antarctica (four who believe that the Earth is flat and four who don't) to demonstrate first hand that there is no wall and that day and night do not cycle every 24 hours like they do almost everywhere else.

"I created The Final Experiment to end this debate, once and for all," he said.

"After we go to Antarctica, no one has to waste anymore time debating the shape of the Earth."

The flight is currently scheduled to take place on December 14th.

Whether it will be enough to put the matter to rest once and for all, however, remains to be seen.
