Pastor to prove Flat Earth believers wrong with expedition to Antarctica

Pastor Will Duffy is going to take four people who believe the Earth is flat and four people who don't to Antarctica.
The Earth is most definitely not flat, yet there are still those who believe absolutely that everyone else is mistaken, that scientists are lying and that the flatness of the Earth is an indisputable truth.

For a while now, the freezing southern continent of Antarctica has been at the center of this debate because proponents of the idea that the Earth is flat believe that there is a giant wall of ice there (a bit like the one in Game of Thrones) marking the 'edge' of the world.

They also maintain that the day and night cycle is the same in Antarctica as it is away from the poles, even though Antarctica sees periods of several months of darkness and several months of daylight.

The difficulties inherent in accessing Antarctica to check this for themselves, they argue, is evidence of the world's governments 'covering up' the 'truth' about the Earth's flat nature.

Now, though, one man has taken it upon himself to settle this issue once and for all.
Colorado pastor Will Duffy is conducting what he calls 'The Final Experiment' by flying a group of eight people to Antarctica (four who believe that the Earth is flat and four who don't) to demonstrate first hand that there is no wall and that day and night do not cycle every 24 hours like they do almost everywhere else.

"I created The Final Experiment to end this debate, once and for all," he said.

"After we go to Antarctica, no one has to waste anymore time debating the shape of the Earth."

The flight is currently scheduled to take place on December 14th.

Whether it will be enough to put the matter to rest once and for all, however, remains to be seen.

Is it really self-funded?  Sounds like a nice excuse to get down there.  My mom and & grandmother took a trip there there, through Ushuaia, pictures were fabulous.

The Flat Earthers believe that the earth is a disc ringed by mountains that we call Antarctica.  I call this the "Mountains of Madness" theory. Flat Earthers are gaining followers all over the globe.

I'am really not sure that the Seychelles exist. However, I would be willing to go on an all expenses paid trip to find out one way or the other.

Sounds more like a group you'd find on the Lawrence Welk show complete with accordions and dancing to polka music.

You know he sat there looking at his watch going "Any minute now.....Any minute now.....Night time any minute now.......Aye fair enough, spherical, I'm going inside before i freeze my nuts off".

I see this as a positive. I won't mock or deride. It's great to see someone open to theories and discovery arrive at irrefutable truth and fact, especially in our current world where everything is suspected to be a lie.

I hope Pastor Duffy had a bet with them that loser pays for the trip. I would not spend a dime trying to prove anything to these maroons. jeepers. I bet they think the earth is flat  anyway

Well , the whole thing is spinning on a  horizontal axis , and so when you are at Antartica , your right by the mountains , so the sun always seems to be up. When you go back home and are farther away , then the sun goes behind the mountains periodically as the the whole flat thing is spinning , thus giving the appearance of day and night.
