Christmas decoration 'comes to life' in festive paranormal clip

Not your typical Christmas scene. Image Credit: TikTok / @verbatim.otp Halloween might be well behind us, but it seems that paranormal incidents can happen at pretty much any time of the year - as evidenced recently by a popular video clip uploaded onto TikTok by user @verbatim.otp.

The video is in two parts, with the first showing a nicely decorated Christmas tree in someone's living room with three ornaments - which may or may not be Santa's elves - standing in a row next to it.

The merry scene seems like the last place you'd expect to find anything paranormal, but as the second clip shows, looks can be deceiving.

In that clip, which is filmed from a different angle after dark, it is possible to see one of the three ornaments seemingly coming to life and walking a short distance across the floor.After being uploaded online, the video quickly managed to rack up over 20 million views and left users unable to decide if the movement was genuinely unexplained or if the whole thing was a hoax.

The clip is certainly a bit creepy and there's no doubt that the ornament moves during the video, but the biggest red flag is the change of angle which means that we can't actually see the ornament in its entirety - someone could be holding on to it just outside the frame of the camera.

Even if it is a hoax, though, at least it's a festive one.
