Fisherman catches bizarre creature that looks like an alien's head

Image: AI-generated (Midjourney) There are some truly strange-looking animals in the depths of the ocean and now one of these has become the focus of a viral video courtesy of Russian fisherman Roman Fedortsov.

Resembling what has been widely described as an alien's head, this bizarre blob caught the attention of the Internet after footage of it was uploaded onto social media.

The clip, which was posted with the theme music of The X-Files playing in the background, quickly racked up a large number of views and sparked a great deal of debate and discussion.Far from being an alien's head, however, this peculiar catch is in fact a type of marine ray-finned fish known as a smooth lumpsucker.

It typically lives deep down in the ocean and can grow up to a foot in length.
