Poland-based firm Volonaut has invented a remarkable new hover bike that doesn't use propellers to stay in the air.
If you've ever wished you could careen through the forests of Endor on a hovering speeder bike like in Return of the Jedi, you may soon get a chance to do this for real (on Earth, at least).
Polish firm Volonaut has developed a brand new type of vehicle - a hovering bike that, unlike most flying vehicle concepts these days, doesn't rely on using drone-like propellers to fly.
Capable of speeds of up to 124mph, the Airbike uses jet propulsion and can seat one rider.
A "proprietary stabilization system" makes it possible for the bike to stay aloft and enables the rider to control their flight with relative ease.
The firm also maintains that it is so comfortable that the rider will "become one" with the bike.
Of course, given that it uses jet propulsion, noise is likely to be a factor - as is fuel.
Even so, it's not hard to imagine people all over the world flying something like this in the future.
Details of exactly when the Airbike will be available to buy and how much it will cost will be revealed soon.
