10 years ago, a sighting of a lion in Milwaukee prompted a major city-wide hunt involving hundreds of people.
The infamous incident began on July 20th, 2015, when a woman called the police to report seeing a large cat in the 200 block of East Garfield Avenue, in Brewer's Hill.
The report sparked a major hunt which involved, among other things, law enforcement officials patrolling the city with long guns and meat traps being set up to tempt the creature.
Multiple people reported sightings of the animal and each time a new report came in, authorities would scramble to reach the location before the creature moved on.
At one point, they believed that they had cornered the lion, but somehow it managed to slip away.
Ultimately, the creature was never caught and nobody knew what happened to it.
Now, however, almost exactly 10 years later, new reports have started to emerge of a large cat in Milwaukee's Riverside Park - prompting a fresh round of speculation and intrigue.
But is there really a lion on the loose AGAIN ?
Some believe that the original creature may not have been a lion at all but a large dog, while others have pointed out that some wild animals can sometimes venture into urban areas.
It's also possible that these creatures have escaped from zoos or private collectors.
Stories of large exotic cats are not unusual - even in the UK there have been reports of panthers and other similar beasts dating back decades.
Exactly what accounts for the Milwaukee sightings, however, remains unclear.
