A humanoid Unitree G1 robot was escorted away by police recently after it had been following a pedestrian.
A scenario that could easily be mistaken for something out of a science fiction movie played out on the streets of Macau, China this week.
According to reports, a 70-year-old woman had gotten quite a scare when she turned around to discover that a humanoid Unitree G1 robot had been following her.
A viral clip of the altercation shows the robot standing in front of her with its arms in the air while the woman shouts angrily and points her hand at the contraption while carrying a bag of groceries.
When police attended the scene, she complained of feeling unwell and had to be taken to hospital.
The robot, meanwhile, was escorted away by two officers.
A short while later, the woman stated that she wasn't going to file a complaint against the robot's operator who, as it happens, had apologized for causing any distress.
It isn't clear why the robot had been following the woman in the first place.
The strange series of events could serve as a glimpse of things to come - a sneak peak of a future where robots are commonplace and in which humans must learn to accept and interact with them.
Well...... it starts and it's only the begining of things to come. As these devices are given Artificial Intelligence it will get much creeper and even possibly dangerous.
Hold on a minute.... The wowan turns around and saw the robot, and prosumes it was following her... Not saying I want these robots around, who knows what tommorrow future brings
