Federal agency bosses have been handed a notice to release the videos within the next two weeks.
According to reports, lawmakers in the US are pushing for the imminent release of a cache of 46 classified videos of UFOs (or UAPs) - many of which having been filmed by military personnel.
The push is being headed up by Representative Anna Paulina Luna - chair of the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets - who has given federal agencies (and Pete Hegseth in particular) a deadline of April 14th to make the videos available.
The argument behind the move is that these objects might pose a threat to national security.
It is believed that several of the videos depict unidentified, fast-moving objects captured on camera over war zones, often by US military personnel or their international partners.
"The lack of disclosure regarding the very real threat posed by UAPs in and around US restricted airspace is concerning," said Luna.
"The Task Force has found responses from AARO, when questioned about UAP sightings and provided data, [to be] less than adequate."
"The presence of UAPs in and around the sensitive airspaces of US military installations poses a threat to the security of the armed forces and their readiness."
Back in March, Luna talked about the UFO files that President Trump said he would be releasing.
"I think they're very serious about doing it," she told Jillian Michaels on
Keeping it Real.
"As soon as we get the official on-paper declassification order, I want to do a press conference with all the information that we are told and shown."
Whether we will get to see the aforementioned 46 videos if they do get released, however, remains unclear.
