A meeting of the secretive Bilderberg group this week has been met with suspicion and intrigue.
The Bilderberg group consists of a number of influential figures who meet on an annual basis for a private conference to which only a select few individuals are invited. The exact nature and purpose of these meetings has been a matter of some debate for years, leading to criticisms and conspiracy theories that include the suggestion that the group meet up to discuss plans for a New World Order.
This week's meeting is no exception, with protestors gathering to express their anger over the secretive nature of the talks. Cries of "What have they got to hide?" and "Why are we funding this?" have been a staple of the public's condemnation for years. Whether the Bilderberg group will ever change its policy and allow the media in to the meetings to report on what's being said however, seems at least for the moment, highly unlikely.[!gad]The Bilderberg group consists of a number of influential figures who meet on an annual basis for a private conference to which only a select few individuals are invited. On a sunny day, on the edge of a country hotel estate, 18 miles from central London, people are gathering - not for the usual summer music festival or indeed to enjoy the weather but to protest.
