I have to ask, why was he using an aerosol can? Whatever happened to rolling up a newspaper and smashing the living daylights out of it? Perhaps you haven't realized the power of arachnophobia? Doesn't really matter what kind of phobia one suffers from, it will always be an illogical fear of just that object. It might seem ridicolous to you but does not so to the subject themselves. I find it good however taht they chose to portray a macho adventurer as Indiana Jones as phobic against snakes because it shows it can happen to virtually anyone.

This reminds me of the guy who set off bug bombs in his house to get rid of mice. He learned they were collecting under a pile of leaves a few days later, and used gasoline to set the leaves and the mice on fire. The mice, while being on fire, ran back into the house and set the house ablaze. LOL Jerk deserved it. There is never an excuse to kill something inhumanely.
