Etibar Elchyev achieved a world record for sticking 50 metal spoons magnetically to his body.
The 39-year-old kick-boxing trainer was to attempt to balance spoons on his head but instead switched to a new feat involving his unusual ability to stick metal objects to his skin through a form of human magnetism. Elchyev only discovered he had this ability a year ago, it isn't clear why his body is able to magnetically attract objects in the way that it does.
Abandoning a bid to set Guinness world record for balancing spoons on his face, a 39-year-old Georgian sports coach instead balances 50 on his body in an apparent feat of 'magnetic' attraction.
I saw something similar to this on Stan Lee's Superhumans. The tests looked a bit more credible than what is seen in this video. If I remember rightly there was no mention of illness or sticky secretions, but he did manage 'stick' more than just metal to himself, and in my eyes debunked the 'Magnetic Man' theory himself. Did anyone else see this? My memory is more than a bit hazy on this one. I doubt this show was credible enough to prove or disprove human magnetism, but they seem to have given him a big yes.
