Prominent figures in the UFO community offered their insights to government officials at the briefing on Thursday.
The event, which was headed up by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and featured talks by scientists and UFO researchers including Harvard scientist Avi Loeb and former AATIP head Luis Elizondo, was aimed at briefing members of Congress about the UFO phenomenon and its implications.

Speaking at the event, Loeb emphasized the need for further funding to improve UFO detection and stated that "there are objects in the sky that we don't understand."

He asked for $1 billion to be assigned to UFO tracking and monitoring.

Another speaker at the hearing was Tim Gallaudet - a retired Navy Rear Admiral - who slammed an alleged 'disinformation campaign' that is being perpetuated by the US intelligence community.

He maintained that the US Navy had a 'treasure trove' of data pertaining to the phenomenon that has not been officially released and called on the White House to publish the data.
Physicist Dr Eric Davis, meanwhile, told the briefing that the US government had long been operating a secretive program designed to recover and reverse-engineer crashed UFOs.

He claimed that the program was initiated in 1944 and that a great deal of the technology recovered from UFO crash sites had been moved to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

Intelligence community expert Christopher Mellon also maintained that there had been almost 1,800 reports of UAPs by military personnel within the last few years alone.

Dozens of such cases remain unsolved, he added - even those dating back to the 1960s.

You can check out the full hearing below.

Well, it’s on… UFO bombshell as government scientist admits he's spent decades studying crashed alien craft …so far, just a complete nothing burger. But some interesting things are being said. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-14668913/UFO-hearing.html   I kinda have an idea where this is going, and I think it’s going to tie into a lot of different programs which are already going on around the world. What I see coming is a collaboration of nations.    …on another note, is anybody on here an eyewitness to UFOs, or UAPs? I know a lot of people have been turning up, ad... [More]

You cant be serious!??? ? Here is the bottom line, it is clear that UFOlogy is set to continue for an indefinite period, not because of any real scientific interest but because it has become firmly established as a form of popular entertainment... and then there are those who just need to believe that our cosmic brothers and sisters have found us.  Any sensible person who reads the UFO literature or who follows UFO discussions on the Internet will be aware that very few UFOlogists (believers) have a sane scientific objective approach to the subject. Some of them apparently believe that UFOs=... [More]

…It’s where I think this is all going to lead to eventually, with these government sponsored congressional committees, and queries that are taking place in Congress right now. I actually think they are going to go through with it eventually, either legislatively or by other means. I have a bad feeling about this really. I don’t want to tell you where I think this is all going, at least not right now.    let’s say, the government, finally releases some hard evidence. What do you think the global response will be? Talk about that…   Do you really want this to happen, and are you re... [More]

You dont have to worry about any of that. We have seen it all before, many times... and nothing ever came of it.

I think it will be the same reaction that we observed after Clinton announced possible evidence of ET.

Exactly. It would be awesome if we could final get that smoking gun type of evidence... but Im still going to work on Monday.

I think your getting excited for nothing, doubt anything new will come out this so called meeting of the minds. But on the odd chance it does, it’s about time, full disclosure is the best policy in any event. JIMHO
