A 9-year-old has attributed divine intervention to his near miss with a bullet fired through his window.
Preston Stevens was in his bedroom in Boston when he narrowly avoided being hit by a stray bullet that came through his window after claiming to have felt a mysterious force push him to one side moments before. The bullet was so close that it made a hole in the jersey he was wearing yet managed to miss his torso. Preston believes that he survived because God was looking out for him.
A 9-year-old Boston boy says divine intervention saved his life when a bullet fired in the street outside his home came through his bedroom wall and left a smoking hole in the Boston Celtics jersey he was wearing.

The Bible, being the word of God, gives us answers to some, and maybe even all, of what you stated above. It does not, however, explain to us why God would allow the life of one person on Earth to be extended and not the life of another - at least not to the detailed extent I believe some are looking for. You do realize that the bible was written by men......not god......and that the writings of some men, and all of the writings that women tried to contribute were refused entry into the bible? I have never actually read the entire bible and I know that I never will, as there is too much violen... [More]

Jay Mark Yes? On what basis do you say this? The boy never said anything about being saved, much less saved by God. The headline writer in the version of the story Still Waters posted made it up. The boy said nothing about moving until after he felt the impact, not before. The Huffington Post writer made that up, too. Do you have any evidence that the boy's parents are even Chrsitians? Christ isn't mentioned anywhere, not even in the phoney-baloney version of the story that the Huffington Post cooked up. If you have some evidence of child abuse, then I'll be happy to give you the email of a Ma... [More]

I certainly don't understand why God chooses one life to extend and allows another to be "cut short". But I think perhaps it's because the length of a human life from His perspective is incredibly brief and no matter how much pain we may suffer in this body, it is completely forgotten once we are resurrected. This is my idea only. No ure to back it up. As to the OP, if he thinks it might have been God then I see no problem even if it wasn't. I look on faith as a positive force in our lives. The only exception I can think of to this is people who withold medical treatment while hoping for a mir... [More]

Of course life is brief, especially in comparison to astronomical terms. You would think that, given the fact that our lives are so brief, he would allow us to live them for what limited time we have, instead of cutting it short. It doesn't make sense to me as to why he would, for example... [More]

I do know that He will definately save those who do believe in Him, however. On my own behalf - I personally cannot make that assumption...If I am to be most honest and speak about facts and not just a belief I hold I would say - I do not know what God will do, and I do not beleive anyone does.. There is more to it than just holding a belief in God.. It is how you lead your life.. A believer in God can hold the belief ok, but lead a life of evil and do wrong...just like anyone else... But I cannot know what God will do...I believe that God will be he only decider .. The simple truth to it all ... [More]

You would think that, given the fact that our lives are so brief, he would allow us to live them for what limited time we have, instead of cutting it short. It doesn't make sense to me as to why he would, for example, allow a bus full of children burn, killing them all, yet allow an individual with no chance of leading a normal life (ie. one in a vegetative state) to live. Why would he allow a serial rapist to survive, while allowing his victim to die? He works in mysterious ways. He seems to be a pretty sadistic SOB, if ... [More]
