Secret 'batplane' filmed near Area 51

A man living near Groom Lake has allegedly filmed a test flight of a secret new aircraft design.

The unnamed man is believed to live in a cabin in the mountains near to the site of the infamous military base Area 51 in Nevada. Pointing his camera skywards, he was able to capture the unusual looking aircraft as it flew overhead. The design seems unlike that of any conventional jet and instead resembles something from a Batman movie ( hence being nicknamed 'batplane' ).

Opinions on-line have been mixed, some believe that the whole thing is a hoax or shows a movie prop while others subscribe to the idea that it could be a new type of secret aircraft being tested by the US military.

A super secret airplane filmed over Area 51 in Nevada looks more like something out of a Batman movie than Jane's Defense Weekly.

Why not? Some of the least expected threads reach unbelievable lengths for any number of reasons. In this case, it seems to have taken an interesting turn or two which just makes it more interesting.

Well, of course, if Governments are changed over every few years, no President or pry Minister is ever going to be in office long enough for them to be let in on ongoing long-term projects, are they. Plus, of course, Politicians nearly always know very little about anything at all apart from how to get on in the world of Politics, so they probably wouldn't understand if they were let in on secret military projects or intelligence operations, and, given how stupid they mostly are, they really couldn't be trusted to keep it secret, could they? I think we are in agreement there. The real politics are done by the big money companies, this buys them a few politicians and so on. simplifie'd but rather the case I would say. I would only site one exception and that's Vladimir Putin, he was part of the secret when he was younger.

G. Bush (sr.) was head of the CIA at one time too, don't forget; in fact, in a lot of ways I think he was probably the last President with any 'hands-on' experience outside the world of politics (he was also a pilot in the War.)

I found this plane which has forward-swept wings. So it is aerodynamically possibly for a plane like that to fly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_X-29

Trust me, governments (most western ones at least) really don't know or care all that much about what the military gets up to in their day to day working. They leave it to people "below" them to run things. They don't care about experiments like the one in the picture until it's finished and working.
