Uploader comment: To the left of the pic, saw this light coming through the doorway on the pic afterwards. There was NO light whatsoever down there. I stayed on the bottom stairs and took the pic, didn't go further into the room. We used our NVGs and there was no light source. The next pic has no light.

Peculiar indeed. Maybe it's just the ghost of a door-mat that used to be there.

since its perfectly square(although 2 colors) I would say its a reflection from a window....was there a window in that room?

differents shades in the ciments of the floor..or... theres alot of humidity it this basement...possibly phosphorescence from mushrooms infestations....or a window.

after looking at it again....reflections from the flash in the window of the cellar door....i bet the door on the pic has a glass window....
