Meteors may have brought life's building blocks

It is believed that a massive bombardment of meteorites billions of years ago could have potentially been sufficient to bring the necessary resources of water and carbon-dioxide needed to jump-start life on Earth.
A massive bombardment of meteorites billions of years ago could have brought in enough water and carbon dioxide to jump-start the chemistry that allowed the Earth to develop into the garden spot of our solar system."
