NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) spacecraft has succeeded in capturing and sending back the first images of the lunar surface since its arrival on June 23rd. The data collected will help pick future landing sites for manned missions.
The US space agency's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) spacecraft has returned its first images since reaching the Moon on 23 June. The probe's two cameras returned images of a region in the lunar highlands south of Mare Nubium (Sea of Clouds). "

I'm just wondering. When it flies over the Apollo 11 landing site, the lunar landing module and the flag they planted should still be there, right? It will be interesting to see if they are. That would lay to rest the theories that the landing never happened. Of course, if they aren't??

There's no wind or rain to affect them. The footprints should still be there. Will the camera be close enough for them to be picked up on film?

Do you really think photos are gunna change the peoples minds who actually believe we never landed on the moon? they will just cry foul. Honestly? NASA can throw out whatever evidence they want to people but there are some (like me) who need tangible evidence aside from a view measly pictures. I'm not saying I don't believe in the moon landing, just that some facts are a little sketchy.

That would lay to rest the theories that the landing never happened. Of course, if they aren't?? It will see some of the relics at the landing sites, yes. The LRO's two narrow-angle cameras take images with a resolution of about 0.5 meter. The largest single artifact at any of the six the landing sites is the Lunar Module's Descent Stage which is roughly 4.5 meters in diameter with the landing legs on the ... [More]
