A 20-year-old Briton who shares the name of the fictional boy wizard Harry Potter and who even has a scar on his forehead after running in to a lamp post at age 15 has stated that JK Rowling's books have made his life more difficult.
A Briton named Harry Potter said the fictional wizard who shares his name has made his life seem as if it were under the influence of a "bad spell."

I wonder if that's commonplace with all Harry Potters? Comes with the name, unfortunately. Is scientifically proven fact. *serious nod*

If they're not going to get it legally changed, they should at least suck it up and take the flak with good humour.

Agreed. Otherwise, anyone is at liberty to mock. Or at least freak out.

Considering this story appeared in The Sun, I have to wonder how factual it is. I suspect the name "Harry Potter" is probably quite common since both 'Harry' and 'Potter' are not unusual names.

Dear Mr. Harry Potter, You have a really cool name. If you hated the attention then you wouldn't have allowed the interview with the paper as it would just bring about more attention to your name. Personally, I'd love to be able to say my name was Harry Potter and then pull out a wooden spoon and pretend it was a wand all of a sudden. Just be glad your name isn't Draco Malfoy. If you didn't like the attention you probably wouldn't have ran into a lamp post. Sincerely, Hurrikane

I'm sure if there were a "REAL" Harry Potter the book was written after, Rowling would change the names up a bit. Rowling stole Harry Potter image along with theme from maybe not so well known film called: "Young Sherlock Holmes" (1985) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090357/ you have to see it to believe it.

I wonder what this Harry Potter dude looks like? Probably not like Rowling's Harry Potter, but I would love to see that scar on his forehead. I am just curious like that.
