20 years ago today the Hubble Space Telescope was launched and became our window to the universe.
While things didn't go quite according to plan immediately due to a flawed mirror, once a space shuttle crew had repaired it Hubble went on to produce thousands of stunning images that have awed mankind for the best part of two decades.
Hubble Space Telescope huggers are celebrating the iconic observatory's 20th birthday, even as scientists anticipate the next generation of bigger and more powerful successors to the famed orbital instrument.

Wow, 20 years...I remember this thing going up like yesterday. I can't believe it's been that long, that's crazy.
