If that's the reason behind the poorness, then no reason to automatically say they couldn't be on the road to fusion power.

More propagandist dribble from North Korea. According to the State run media of North Korea their illustrious leader regularly has numerous holes in one when playing a round of golf. If they can print stuff like that to fool their minions into thinking he is all supreme then I would take their fusion claim with a grain of salt . There are nutcases and then there is Kim Jong-il. He may be clever and persuasive with regard to how he manipulates those who have been unfortunate enough to have been born there....but a nutcase nonetheless. Just like that guy in the 1930's - 40's

I call Godwin on this one, lol. Still, there's usually a grain of truth in technological claims, I think. Doesn't mean they've built anything, but they're certainly researching it. And remember, since the government there isn't taking too much care of the people, that's more resources centerred around the gov, I can imagine their research department could get ahold of some advanced gadgets.

They're completely underdeveloped and the only real trading partner they have is China...and they've been less than pleased with NK's actions these past few years. Added to this is the leaders taking all the food and power for themselves. They never would rule the earth. Even if they got serious nuke capability, I'm sure at that point, the U.N. would put a limited lift on the space weaponization ban so we could overcome that.
