Carbon 'burp' kick-started end of ice age

A massive repository of carbon dioxide under the sea may have started global warming at the end of the last ice age.
Carbon dioxide would have been dissolved in the world's oceans and released at 100,000 year intervals, kick-starting global warming and resulting in a global thaw. The last one could have helped end the last ice age 18,000 years ago.
A huge carbon "burp" from the sea may have ended the last Ice Age 18,000 years ago, scientists believe. The carbon dioxide was locked away in the deep ocean "repository" and as the Earth warmed it was released into the atmosphere causing global warming, it was said.

I was refering to the specific individuals responsibility and cognitive response, ie been told that your specific lifestyle (which society has trained you to believe is good and right, and the physical thing which you possess as been your just rewards for been a good boy/girl) is a problem and that you specifically as an individual are "bad" for behaving in this way. This is the message which causes personal offence and the response to deny the message and hence any personal responsibility for the damage which is been done to the world. You either deliberately took my meaning up wrongly (proba... [More]

people who make comments like mankind is the reason for global warming is more a part of the problem than the guy who ones an suv or a corvette, i use corvette because i would like to own one, wont but still. the person who makes such a comment, which is false to start with and most people know this. the person who owns the suv or the corvette knowing that man is not the only reason for global warming is going to keep on driving his car as much as he wants or can afford to. ignoring comments like that one. everyone knows that these cars pollute and dont so badly, but as long as they feel their... And that is the tragedy of the situation, and why we will inevitably cause our own cultural collapse. How sad. Br Cornelius yes, it is so maybe you guys should stop lieing about it.

Sad. Br Cornelius True it is sad that you have to lie to people to try and get them to do what you demand that they do.

True it is sad that you have to lie to people to try and get them to do what you demand that they do. I am not lying to anyone, just trying to clarify facts, if you cannot see that then what can I say. You have recently gone from opinionated debate to repeatedly trying to misrepresent what I have actually said, I will let my words be my witness. Br Cornelius

Br Cornelius your words are not the main problem here. it is your backing of words such as those in the op. "as the earth was warming up it released a burp of carbon which started global warming. which is it the earth was warming up before the carbon burp or the earth started warming up after the carbon burp. sorry cant have this one both ways.

Yes you can, you simply ignoring that doesn't change a thing. I already have explained this in numerous threads before. I make this simple: Earth is ice age - Axis tilts - Earth warms slightly - CO2 released - Earth warms further - CO2 released........

If a natural release of carbon (as Matt described) can have that effect, whats so difficult to understand about a measured artifical release of carbon having the same effect ie warming. An unwillingness to understand the mechanism seems probable. Br Cornelius
