The UFO Phenomenon

A sheriff's dark Roswell secret revealed

By T.K. Randall
September 8, 2010 · Comment icon 52 comments

Anthony Bragalia investigates the role Sheriff George Wilcox played in the infamous Roswell incident.
The role that was played by the Chaves County Sheriff in the Roswell UFO crash of 1947 -though of major importance- is even today not completely understood. It is also vastly underappreciated.

I wouldn't call it an "argument" Paxus. But I would call it testimonial evidence. The validity of the testimony most likely doesn't amount to much for most observers, though. Someone on the internet, claiming to be a visiting alien, makes a statement to an individual, and that individual shares the statement with other people on the internet. It is hearsay, for one, and dubious at best. I suspect that even the most commonly respected (between believers and skeptics alike) scientific mind alive today wouldn't accept this kind of second hand anonymous testimony as any measure of *proof*. I refer... [More]

I would like to add, somewhat belatedly, that I really enjoy your posts Paxus and I have a high respect for you as a person. I hope that my responses aren't interpreted by you as discouragement or disparaging remarks, because that is not my intention in the least. Even though I don't agree with or believe in some of the things that you've proposed, I genuinely like you as a human being, and I don't intend to cause any offense. It may help you to understand my perspective if you knew why I have a skeptical point of view, so I'll share it now. I have little doubt that you've heard the phrase "Fo... [More]

Ok, and how bout an affidavit from a former USAF general(Arthur Exon)? Isn't that credible legally admissable evidence. Something that a court would admit as evdience??!!? HMmm??? Seriously, I don't how Skyeagle stays patient with all you would be "debunkers" out there. Most of you've blown your credibility way back there. Something crashed other than balloons. Maybe it was a White Sands nazi tech from operation PaperClip or maybe it was ET. The soil temp at the crash site is still currently warmer than the surrounding area. STILL 60+ years after! That thermal data doesn't lie! Something very ... [More]

And that's your belief 'bloke'. No, it is YOUR belief, which you cannot validate. It's a camp fire tale, nothing more. Everything presented to date cements this. Skyeagle has and continues to reasonably and patiently lay out the facts of the Roswell case. I do not think we are reading the same posts. What I see is wild stories with no validation questioned by people with expertise in those areas. Then I see outright denial of said facts, followed by a thread division of those who understand the said presented data and those who do not and choose to champion the tale with Aliens. I would not ca... [More]

Not sure if this counts as an argument, but; someone who claims to be from another planet (ie. a visiting alien) told me that the Roswell crash did happen and that their were alien bodies there and that the US government did, in fact, grab the lot. But you also thought the guy was a total whackjob didn't you? He also said he came not only from another planet, but another Galaxy didn't he? I have little doubt that person was no more than an attention seeker. Unfortunately Roswell seems to be a magnet for them.

Dunno yet psyche101, as soon as I find out, I'll let you know! I can't be bothered to research the whole Roswell thing in as much depth as some people do. I always thought it was weird that people who knew exactly what a weather balloon looks like said it wasn't a weather balloon. Has this discrepancy been resolved?

Mate, I have been looking into it in depth for some years now. Although tempted to let your post lie because it will be hijacked by a member whom I regard no more than a delusional fanatic I will offer you the following food for thought. You know Mac Brazel? Psyche- You have not been keeping up! Bessie Brazel has since fully retracted and recanted her prior statements in a tape-recorded interview with author Tom Carey. In the revised "Witness to Roswell" (page 79) Bessie admits that she was not there and had confused it with another occasion. Loretta Proctor herself (whose son Dee was in fact there) told me personally that Bessie was not there... Mate, I have been looking into it in depth for some years now.
