A video showing what appears to be a unicorn running through the woods has been confirmed to be a hoax.
The Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada originally claimed they had received the video from a group of hunters however later confirmed that the video had actually been a fake. In an e-mail to UM member Sakari who was investigating the video a representative stated: "We chose to use a video of an alleged “unicorn sighting” to get the public thinking about how myths persist even though we know they cannot be true. These stories appeal to the human imagination. Unicorns are one of the many beasts featured in our upcoming exhibition, Mythic Creature: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids, which explores fossils, extinct creatures and animals that may have been the inspiration for some of these tales. Reaction to the video shows that even today, we are fascinated by myths."[!gad]The Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada originally claimed they had received the video from a group of hunters however later confirmed that the video had actually been a fake. I can't believe a) that if the Science Centre wanted to release a fake unicorn video they released that POS, and people actually considered for a moment that that animal, whether horse or unicorn, was real. Maybe its because I have a horse that I see running away from me on a regular basis, that know there is clearly some motion created: haunches moving, neck bobbing/stretching, ears twitching. This thing just rolled on through. Ridiculous. Could they seriously not just use a real horse?

It was a white horse with three toed paws instead of hooves that was mangled by heathens and taken away by the government men. Just a deformed horse - that's all..

It's interesting how the unicorn also happens to be white. Why can't there be a pinto unicorn? And why was it so close? Do you know how easy it is to hoax this? Put a horn on a white horse, start filming, and have the horse trot across the area being filmed. I almost want to go out and make a unicorn sighting right now from watching this.

Haha! Charlie moves just like that! Someone probably caught him on tape when he was on his way to see the Liopleurodon. Should have followed him to Candy mountain!

Hahaha it is obviously a stuffed dummy that somebody dragged through the woods by a rope or something. Notice how you never see its hooves. That's because it has none.

I find it disturbing that someone somewhere has a stuffed horse just standing somewhere in their house/garage/etc... Something like that would creep the hell out of me

This undated photo provided by the Center of Natural Sciences in Prato, Italy, Wednesday, June 11, 2008, shows a deer with a single horn in the center of its head. The one-year-old Roe Deer - nicknamed "Unicorn'' - was born in captivity in the research center's park in the Tuscan town of Prato, near Florence, Gilberto Tozzi, director of the Center of Natural Sciences, said. He is believed to have been born with a genetic flaw; his twin has two horns. (AP Photo/Center of Natural Sciences, ho) My link

If any cryptid turns out to be real, I want it to be the unicorn. SO BAD. This scenario must happen. Rainbows are optional, but preferred.
