LOL, I am from South Africa and in the "black people's newspaper" you read about these things all the time. They believe in it and are brought up with witchery and all cultural things. They dont go to a doctor when they are sick, they visit a sangoma, which uses materials from earth and animals to "cure" the people. Some witch doctors use people's body parts and you can also go to these to "bewitch" someone or plan revenge. These witch doctors are evil and I have seen what they can "produce". I personally think this is just a hoax too boost the tourism of the small town. And it couldn't hurt making most of the sightings near a specific tavern, especially for the tavern owners wallet. Its like Nessie in Scotland. 99% of that towns tourism is generated by people wanting to catch a glimpse of the mythical creature. But hey, who knows, maybe there is something happening in this small town in the Karoo.

Could be a Land Octopus, they can change colour and shape! Normally they don't come out during the day though, so this one was probably ill or drunk.

Strange things can happen but I don't believe it. Good story though, should up the tourism.

This practice is appalling and I hope the gov. of this nation/s starts to provide true protection for these people, beyond there small hideout.
