Scientists previously skeptical about global warming have conceded that the planet is getting hotter.
Climate change has been a topic of controversry and debate for years but now it seems the evidence is becoming more and more undeniable with even previously skeptical climate scientists concluding that global warming is indeed occuring.
A group of scientists known for their scepticism about climate change has reanalysed two centuries' worth of global temperature records. Their study largely confirms previous ones: it finds strong evidence that Earth is getting hotter.

What I wonder is who researched this story, because the few little details I know of Gatech could be found out by any competent journalist in a five minute online research...unless of course the journalist has no real interest in the facts himself/herself. In case you didn't know the Mail is the most extreme right wing propaganda rag published (short of the BNP house Journal) in the UK. I wouldn't trust one single fact it published without suspecting they had deliberately distorting it. It lives off breeding fear in the elderly publishing a constant barrage of stories of how the NHS will kill ... [More]

do you understand that the link you provided is not an experiment showing co2 causing warming? it is merely a deion of an experimental setup. Do you understand the principle of absorption and emission bands of bipolar molecules. Did you read the link I supplied which explained how those worked to cause warming of the atmosphere. Adequate empirical quantification of the effects of CO2. Br Cornelius

do you understand that the link you provided is not an experiment showing co2 causing warming? it is merely a deion of an experimental setup. Yes, and the results of that setup, as used in junior high class is that the container with the greenhouse gas is warmer than the container with normal atmospheric gas using the same 150 watt bulb to illuminate it. So your problem is...? And carbon dioxide does not cause the warming, the light bulb does. Just, to the contrary of many other gases it accumulates the heat that other gases let through. Therefore it is a greenhouse gas. And carbon dioxide doe... [More]

And carbon dioxide does not (seemingly) heat up the atmosphere, the sun does. Just carbon dioxide accumulates heat that normally would be radiated back into space. ... [More]

I am just surprised it took the deniers a week to come up with a credible sounding deflection from the real message of the BEST report. Very shoddy work for such highly paid professional . Br Cornelius

I am just surprised it took the deniers a week to come up with a credible sounding deflection from the real message of the BEST report. Very shoddy work for such highly paid professional . Br Cornelius That is because after the Muller report most don't see any future in Cherry Picking. Fact of the matter is that the planet (for whatever causes) is warmer than it was a century ago and only those who evidently have no future in Climatology would bother to deny that. And as for the causes: Once we excluded all other possibilities, no matter how implausible, the remaining one has to be the cause (... [More]

Here's what Curry actually said about the data; The Associated Press contacted Curry on Sunday afternoon and she said in an email that Muller and colleagues "are not hiding any data or otherwise engaging in any scientifically questionable practice."The Muller "results unambiguously show an increase in surface temperature since 1960," Curry wrote Sunday. She said she disagreed with Muller's public relations efforts and some public comments from Muller about there no longer being a need for skepticism. http://news.yahoo.com/skeptic-finds-now-agrees-global-warming-real-142616605.html So how come ... To be fair, the Georgia Tech department Curry teaches in does seem to exist. Not that it matters much with her recent "corrections" http://curry.eas.gatech.edu/

Not that it matters much with her recent "corrections" http://curry.eas.gatech.edu/ My bad,as I did not find it on the official webpage nor on the teaching program I supposed it was one of those bogus institutions created for "merited" collaborators that have no other purpose than to feed them for inability to find another job.
