Amityville house resident speaks of haunting

Christopher Lutz has spoken out about his experiences living in the infamous Amitville Horror house.
Lutz has claimed that the events said to have occured there in 1975 depicted in the two movies are far from accurate. "An apparition manifested just outside my bedroom door. It scared the crap out of me as a little kid," he said.

Lutz was also keen to dispell the idea that the haunting was a result of the murders that took place in the house, instead claiming that his grandfather had been dabbling in the occult and reciting demonic names after they'd moved in.
A valley man spent decades trying to escape the ghosts of his past. He lived in one of America's most famous haunted houses -- in Amityville, New York.

I listened to an interview with Quaratino not too long ago on Spooky Southcoast ( the 9-17-11 episode here ). I was never big on the whole Amityville thing, but I lean towards skepticism anyway. What I got from the interview was at times he seemed like a guy who genuinely wanted to get his side of the story out because so many people had told his story for/instead of him in the past. He talked a couple times about how he had been approached by producers who had wanted to get him to participate in documentaries/movies and had rejected them because he didn't want to be a part of the hype surroun... It is between you and God I believe ( on good days ) regardless of what it does to me, or if you think I'm a hypocrite, or if a hundred million nodding heads dissolve your conscience into nothing, or if another gotcha pushes back what you know to be true just long enough to forget about it.

Christopher Lutz interview. He basically says that the film over hyped what it was really like to live in the house, but that he did see a "shadowy form of a man coming towards me" and he also said that it was a frightening house to live in. This interview says that he was making his own documentary, I wonder if he ever finished it? Source Youtube:

My question is how do we know this guy is who he claims to be?

My question is how do we know this guy is who he claims to be? Good question, he should definitely prove it, I agree.

Good question, he should definitely prove it, I agree. I mean there's so much information available about what allegedly happened that any guy with the first name of Christopher can claim to be him and say that he changed his last name to avoid the public.

I gotta agree that it would be nice if Chris showed his papers.. An interesting tidbit I dug up whist wandering around about Chris is this site... My Amityville Horror It appears that Chris's older brother, Dan, has gotten into production about this story as well. Might prove to make for some interesting and perhaps telling comparisons to Chris's story. And an article from 2005 where Chris comments- My link This is from when Kathy had already passed, but George was still alive. The article mentions a 2003 lawsuit between George and Chris- so maybe Chris has been speaking up for longer than pre... [More]
