A 27-year-old shop assistant suffers from a rare condition that makes her fall in love with objects.
Amanda Whittaker first fell in love with the statue after a friend posted a picture online, she now has her own shrine dedicated to the statue in her living room that is filled with miniature replicas. Amanda has been to visit the statue in person four times and has even talked about cementing their relationship via marriage. "She is my long-distance lover and I am blown away by how stunning she is," she says. "Other people might be shocked to think I can have romantic feelings for an object, but I am not the same as them."
The iconic Statue of Liberty is adored by millions around the world. But while most appreciate what it stands for, or are in awe of its design, few would profess their undying love for it.

Interesting... Never seen news like this before. I'd be surprised to see it in the newspaper the next morning.

There's a show on tv right now that features obsessions; one guy was literally in love with his car.

Surely everyone knows what "Back on topic" means, especially when posted by a Moderator? Thank you.

I don't know much about this syndrome, but I wonder if the perceived or intended 'gender' of an object makes any difference. What I mean is..... Does falling in love with Liberty mean that, if this woman had normal sexual desires, she would be attracted to women?
