One of the fingers lost by a wakeboarder in an accident has turned up months later inside a trout.
31-year-old Hans Galassi had been wakeboarding on Priest Lake in Idaho when he caught his fingers in a loop of the line and was unable to free them before it tightened, severing four of his digits in the process. The last thing he ever expected was that several months later he would receive a phone call to tell him that one of his missing fingers had been found. Fisherman Nolan Calvin had been gutting a trout he'd caught in the same lake when he came across one of Galassi's digit in its stomach.
"The sheriff called me and told me he had a strange story to tell me," said Galassi. "He said that a fisherman was out on Priest Lake, and I pretty much knew exactly what he was going to say at that point."
Fisherman Nolan Calvin found the finger while he was cleaning the trout he caught on September 11. He put it on ice and called the sheriff's office in Bonner County, Idaho.
