Canadian UFO sightings doubled in 2012

Up to 40% of the sightings took place over Ontario while reports came in from every other Canadian province with the exception of Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island. While the number of reports is clearly on the rise, the institute is not jumping to a purely extraterrestrial interpretation of these statistics.

Several factors are being cited as reasons for the increase in sightings including the possibility that more classified military exercises are taking place over populated regions and that people may be more likely to mistake conventional objects in the sky for something unusual.
