A mysterious priest that turned up at the scene of an accident in Missouri is being hailed as an 'angel'.
The accident involved a collision between two cars, one of which being driven by student Katie Lentz. Her car was partially crushed and emergency workers had been struggling to cut through the twisted wreck to free her when a black-garbed priest appeared on the scene and said he would pray for her. Nobody seemed to know who the priest was nor where he had come from, he wasn't from any of the local churches.

Shortly afterwards everything seemed to start going right - emergency workers succeeded in rescuing Lentz from the wreck and she was rushed to hospital. Turning to thank the priest for his support, rescue team members discovered that he had completely disappeared, never to be seen again. Even stranger was the fact that despite dozens of photographs being taken at the scene covering all aspects of the rescue, the mysterious priest did not appear in a single one of them.[!gad]The accident involved a collision between two cars, one of which being driven by student Katie Lentz. Emergency workers and community members in eastern Missouri are not sure what to make of a mystery priest who showed up at a critical accident scene Sunday morning and whose prayer seemed to change life-threatening events for the positive.

Myster Solved ... Angel Priest Identified as Rev. Patrick Dowling of the Jefferson City Diocese. Read more: http://www.foxnews.c...est-identified/ Amazing how a set of events put in motion seem to come together at the right time. God bless you Father for being there! Thank you for ending the mystery. However, as I said earlier, I think we so often ignore the physical angels among us!!!! I think that everyone who has participated in this thread has been strengthened by it in some way. I know I have...

Another link with more details if anyone is interested. http://www.ncregiste...escue-revealed/ The priest is too modest, what a humble person. I think this is such a great story. From the link: Mysterious Questions RemainCNA spoke with Father Dowling Aug. 12, and he said that he gave Lentz the anointing of the sick as well as absolution. He affirmed that it was in the normal duties of a priest, “except that there was something extraordinary it sounds like, in the sequence of events that coincided in time with the anointing.” “You must remember: There were many people praying there, many,... If he was there then he was probably driving and saw the accident happen, pulled over, got out etc. once he did his priest thing, everyone was gonna be watching the victim, emts, emergency people, etc. he could've gotten back in his car, and rove on, once he got to where the road was closed, they wouldn't tell him to go back, so he went on. this seems much more probable than "angel did it" Let's all take a moment to appreciate how Sherlock Holmesian I am

Once again, another lesson is deliverd in how first hand accounts and eyewitnesses are completelly unreliable. "The road was closed for miles" "There's no way he could not appear in the photos" "He disappeared" yada yada Your Tuesday morning "Occam Check" - I should trademark that.

Give the priest some credit for coming forward. Exactly - just like the ancient astronauts, reverse engineered ET tech, etc. arguments - give human beings actual credit for doing something.

From the link: I wonder what Father dowling means by "that did not come from my lips, though two people heard it"? Is he saying that they are lying, or what? That is an interesting point. No, I don't think he's saying in anyway they are lying. I remember what they heard being among the statements. However, I did notice even then that they seemed to qualify their statements with something like, they weren't sure where the words came from at the time. If you want go back and take a look at what they said. Even when I first read it I had the opinion they were saying that they were not sure if the... [More]

Beautiful story. But no angel, I'm afraid. Just a caring human being who stopped by the roadside to help a young woman in serious trouble.

Further to the story the priest has since visited the young victim. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/09/22/15/59/miracle-priest-reveals-himself-no-saint
