Walton's story is one of the best known alien abduction cases. Image Credit: CC BY 2.0 Jason Rogers
In 1975 Travis Walton disappeared after he and his co-workers encountered a UFO in northeastern Arizona.
On November 5th of that year a team of seven workers had been driving on a remote dirt road in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest when they came across a strange luminous disc-shaped object hovering nearby.

Walton had got out of the truck to approach the craft when he was hit by a bluish light which threw him to the ground. His co-workers fled the scene in a panic but when they returned a short time later to find him both he and the mysterious object had disappeared.

Walton would eventually turn up five days later, scared, confused and with fleeting memories of having encountered strange extraterrestrial entities during the time he was missing.
His story would go on to become one of the best known UFO abduction cases ever recorded.

This weekend Walton will be commemorating the 39th anniversary of the event by holding a summit featuring a number of prominent speakers including Stanton Friedman and Richard Dolan.

The 'Skyfire Summit' will be held from November 7-9th in the town of Heber, Arizona, near to the place where the abduction incident originally occurred.

Thanks leo for your reply. That would be the only thing, I believe that would be the reason why none of the witnesess have come forward about the hoax. Do I rule that out? Def not. It would have to be an amazing hoax, considering what those witnesess said they saw. Also witnesses seeing Travis shot through the air by a beam of light. But, skeptics saying they were all in on it, that does not make sense at all. No matter what way you look at it

Hi Quillius Yeah, I have heard that theory before, and the only plausible one for the witnesess coining forward. Though of course possible, it would have to be an amazing hoax of a solid looking craft, that shoots a beam of light and sends tavis flying.

Hi Quillius Sad fact is, you will get people who believe everything, or debunk everything. Just the way it is As I don't go into cases with either of these belief systems, I find it much better. So many times I have debated a case, and actually changed my mind on alot of cases after hearing counter arguments. You live and learn, and that is def the case in this subject. One person (oberg) has changed my views on alot of cases, esp NASA ufos. It's good to be wrong, because you are still learning something. But after hearing all the arguments regarding the Travis Walton case. The arguments are we... [More]

I agree, same here really.....Jim O is a very good man...I have a huge amount of respect for the guy. take care...home time for me.... Morrison has some mad researching skills unlike those lazy debunkers who just google an article and argue with him, the big know nothings. He GOOGLES with passion and reads the articles twice so he is twice as smart as everyone else. Or something like that.

He GOOGLES with passion and reads the articles twice so he is twice as smart as everyone else. Or something like that. You can say whatever you like. I love the subject, so I do research a case before I make up my mind. And its not just about debating with skeptics. I have had many debates with believers regarding cases/people. I don't believe in making your mind up before knowing the facts about a case. That's just the way I am. Like I said before . My min... [More]

My mind has been changed on many cases. That does not bother me. I remember debating oberg about the NASA footage( tether, formation over Africa etc) And after that debate I knew he was right , which was great because its a lesson learnt. I'm merely putting your w... [More]
