UFO caught on film over the Statue of Liberty

Credit: Karl Döringer / (PD) A woman and her sister-in-law had been visiting the statue earlier this week when they spotted an unidentified object in the sky and took the decision to take out a camera and begin recording it.

The object, which moves steadily from right to left across the frame, is dark in color and doesn't appear to possess any markings or lights. It is roughly circular in shape with a grey area towards the center where the light seems to be catching on its surface.Internet users commenting on the footage have offered a range of suggestions to explain the sighting including the possibility that the object could be some sort of balloon or aerial drone.
