The 'Phantom of the Opera' singer is set to spend ten days aboard the space station in October.
The British soprano will be the first professional performing artist ever to sing in space when she travels to the International Space Station later this year aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft with cosmonaut Sergei Volkov and Denmark's Andreas Mogensen.
The 54-year-old, who will be the eighth ever space tourist following on from Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, games developer Richard Garriott and Microsoft co-founder Charles Simonyi, has paid a whopping $52 million for the privilege.
Brightman arrived in Russia this week to begin a nine-month training course to prepare her for the mission but was forced to postpone proceedings for a few days due to ill-health.
She is however expected to resume her training shortly and has no plans to cancel the trip.
