China invaded by thousands of tiny toads

A massive plague of amphibians has descended upon China's Liaoning Province following heavy rainfall.
Puzzled locals tried their best not to step on the animals as they swarmed pathways in such huge numbers that it looked as though the ground was moving.

It is thought that the toads had emerged from a nearby lake in the Ganjingzi Qu region following a particular lengthy spell of wet weather.
In some places there were so many of them that they had taken to piling up on top of one another.
