Crowds gathered to watch as the two robots tied the knot at an unconventional ceremony in Japan.
The bizarre spectacle saw the 'bride' Yukirin - an android designed to look like Japanese pop idol Yuki Kashiwagi, marry the 'groom' Frois - a red robot with a bucket-shaped head, at an unorthodox wedding ceremony at Tokyo's Aoyama Cay on June 27th.
The happy couple were married by a third robot called Pepper, a customer support robot that can more traditionally be found operating in mobile phone stores in Tokyo.
The wedding came complete with a cake, a wedding band ( comprised of more robots, naturally ) and even a shared kiss between the bride and groom in front of crowds of intrigued onlookers.
I wanna marry the T1000, he/she/it can turn into aaaanything I want...like Famke Janssen, Bar Rafaeli.... Just remember not to drink out of the carton.
After the marriage, are the robots going to adopt? Can they support a baby robot? We have enough people on welfare, we don't need robots as well building as many kids as they want!
Marriage, even bridges can get in on that sweet-sweet action. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2356774/Australian-woman-Jodi-Rose-marries-bridge-France--gets-mayors-blessing.html
Well, it will be fine until the day the female designated robot ask the male designated robot just what he is doing with that power tool attachment... Or the female designated robot is found to be cheating with that - in her optic enhancers - Henry branded hoover...
Too bad they couldn't get this guy to officiate... Hmm, I was thinking this myself... Not sure what to think of robots getting married. Probably best to just not think anything of it at all. Edit: odd nothing was mentioned on if the robots consummated the marriage on their wedding night.
