Competitive eater Nela Zisser managed to consume almost two dozen large burgers in one session.
Zisser, who is from New Zealand, undertook the glutenous challenge as part of a contest with rival Erik Lamkin who managed to eat the same amount of burgers in 18 minutes and 20 seconds.
In order to down the burgers Zisser used a technique that involved dipping them in water to soften them before stuffing them in to her mouth one after the other in rapid succession.
"That was a lot more food than I expected," she said. "My final time for all 20 cheeseburgers was 16:11 which isn't bad but I think I could have done better !"
Over her competetive eating career Zisser has undertaken challenges that have involved eating everything from 8,000 calories of cheesecake to 50 mozzarella cheese sticks.
A video of her latest feat, which was uploaded on to her YouTube channel, can be viewed below.
I bet the average American could down 20 of those things in under 5 mins. Something for every kid in America to aspire to. 'Murica! It's probably worth mentioning this young woman is a New Zealander, not an American.
Can I ask all the people who disagree with this, what competitions or records they deem worthy? On a personal level, I rate football as completely pointless, as well as golf, cricket and Motorsport, even though I'm a petrol head, what's the point of football players getting paid 50k a week to kick a bit of leather about? What's the point of hitting a ball with a bat or club or even tearing about the country side or race track ripping up the ground and polluting the environment? You don't mention football players who don't give there money to help the homeless or hungry. I've just had a KFC, sh... [More]
We are not talking about football players or someone who eats a meal at a fast food place. This is about some nutsy woman who desperately shoves garbage down her gullet in as little time as possible without choking and has the gall to call it an accomplishment. Competition eating is like some psuedo-sport for the rich and/or stupid.
Competition eating is like some psuedo-sport for the rich and/or stupid. Much like Football or Motorsport? I know the discussion is not about football, I was talking about football as I hold the same respect for it that you do about this woman. I was asking what people deem a worthy sport or achievement.
