President Donald Trump has revealed the official logo for the US Space Force - and it looks somewhat familiar...
The new logo, which looks suspiciously like the Starfleet logo from Star Trek, will be used to represent the latest branch of the US military which will deal exclusively with the country's space endeavours.

"After consultation with our Great Military Leaders, designers, and others, I am pleased to present the new logo for the United States Space Force, the 6th Branch of our Magnificent Military!" Trump wrote.

Announced back in June 2018, the US Space Force aims to protect American assets in space and prevent countries such as China and Russia taking the lead off-world.
"Thank you for your continued leadership and support," Gen. John W. Raymond - Chief of Space Operations - wrote in response to Trump's tweet.

"I couldn't be more proud of our team as we continue to provide critical space capabilities for America (GPS, SATCOM, Missile Warning) while building our newest Armed Service."
