Should you hunt ghosts in your own home ?

Is ghost hunting at home a good idea ? Image Credit:
Carrying out a paranormal investigation of your own personal abode may have some serious drawbacks.
With the coronavirus pandemic putting a stop to most paranormal investigations, many enthusiasts have taken to looking for ghosts without actually leaving the house.

But is it really a good idea to try capturing evidence of paranormal phenomena in your own home ?

A recent article published in The Southside Times argues that it isn't, for several reasons.

Perhaps the most obvious is that if you are used to going out visiting various purportedly haunted locations, your home serves as a sanctuary from this - a place to feel safe and secure.
If you start to believe that your own home is haunted, it makes it difficult to switch-off - it can feel like an intrusion that permeates your day and from which you cannot escape, especially if you are self-isolating due to the coronavirus and cannot come and go as you please.

Believing your home to be haunted can also be potentially distressing as some may try to associate the activity with a deceased relative - especially if they have recently lost someone.

All things considered - paranormal investigation can be a fun and fascinating hobby, but it is not something that you really want to live with 24/7 - whether you believe your home to be haunted or not.

When the pandemic is over, there will be plenty of opportunity to visit other locations.

But then we get a hundred garbage threads with titles like "OMG BEST EVP EVER" and blurry photos of nothing, along with requests for "help" because they think their house is haunted. IMO, keep your (and my) sanity intact - don't bring that crap into your house. Go snipe hunting somewhere else - don't **** where you eat.

Thing is there will always be the dear believers who to them its not prosaic its always paranormal supernatural otherwordly, and its ( in there mind ) very very real to them and yeah seems its easy for them to find except when we ask for the elusive proof, so i imagine their houses have spookies if you to ask them, no hunting necessary. Ive taken a different viewpoint, if a person wants to insist its paranormal and its real and im just too unenlightened to see it thats fine, sure i find that pretty much a load of time wasting delusional tripe, so as not to waste my time after i learn are a... There's a saying about staring into the abyss and having it stare back at you. It applies here.

I remember trying to get EVPs for fun recording on my phone, and one time I heard someone say "I... am dead!" and it creeped me out, because it sounded just like my voice. That's last I messed with it. Ain't nobody got time for that!

I would think that if there isn't anything happening to begin with then the thought wouldn't even be there and what would be the sense. (We don't go to the door if there isn't a knock at it...) Seems like people who do have experiences, have many before they even start to believe it themselves.  I also think that the majority of people who do have activity ,do try to find out who, why & what. But if theres no activity then I think they're just chasing the air (not even the wind).
