Have you ever seen anything like this ? Image Credit: Twitter / YouTube
Video footage of a rather peculiar discovery has been doing the rounds on social media this month.
What's long, slithers around underwater and is covered in green fur ?
This was the question asked by a number of curious social media users this week after footage of such a creature, which was discovered in Thailand, went viral online.
It was found quite unexpectedly in the city of Sakhon Nakhon and placed into a container of water.
So could this be a previously undiscovered species, a deliberate hoax, or is something else going on ?
In this case, at least, there does appear to be a conventional explanation - the general consensus among the locals is that this is in fact a puff-faced water snake that has spent so long at the bottom of a swamp waiting for prey to come along that moss has literally grown all over its body.
It could be as there's not much info available. I did, however, find one article with a few additional details, and locals saying they thought it could be a puff-faced water snake that had moss growing on its body from waiting such a long time in the swamp to catch its prey. https://www.newsflare.com/video/481445/mystery-green-furry-snake-found-floating-in-swamp-in-thailand
it's an Elephant Trunk Snake with moss growing on it. They're a largely aquatic snake. The owner is a snake keeper in Thailand who is a big time TikToker.
Oh, look, it's a dragon! You've never seen those Chinese pictures of dragons? That one is obviouly a seaweed dragon. It appears to be at least part plant.
