Man recounts his Covid-induced near-death experience

A man who caught Covid during the early days of the pandemic almost died and had a very vivid experience.
Exactly what happens when we die remains perhaps the single biggest unanswered question of the human condition, yet there are those who remain convinced that they've seen a glimpse of it.

Randy Shiefer is one of a growing number of people to come forward with details of a near-death experience that they'd had after contracting Covid during the pandemic.

Shiefer had developed pneumonia and was deteriorating rapidly when doctors made the decision to place him in a medically-induced coma.

It was during this time that he described feeling his "consciousness awakening" and recalled moving along a tunnel that was encased in a "beautiful, warm, loving light".

"I remember, suddenly, I look over my shoulder, and this big, beautiful white staircase rose up into the sky as far as you could see," he said.
"And I said, if I can get onto that staircase, maybe somebody will find me."

He climbed up the staircase until someone shouted "there's Randy" and grabbed him.

"When they whisked me off those steps, I remember it going black, back to my little dark, sedated world," he said.

Could this experience have been a product of chemicals within his brain or did he really go to some other place for a brief time before returning to the world of the living ?

You decide.

Sounds like a pretty bland and short NDE overall . I've read some much longer , much more detailed ones.

If I were an NDE researcher I would tell this guy to get out of my office when he finished his story.†

Me and my buddy always unanimously agreed that the song we would want to hear on the way up through the tunnel was "Comfortably numb " from Pink Floyd. And i was thinkin , on the way down in , "Sin City " , from ACDC. Anyway i hope he heard it on the way up.
