'Lake monster' captured on camera in Madin Dam, Mexico

What sort of creature is this ? Image Credit: Facebook / Gobierno de Atizapan de Zaragoza
Police in Atizapan de Zaragoza have reportedly been investigating sightings of a large creature in the water.
A local news report that has been doing the rounds this week concerns the alleged sighting of a 'large silhouette' that was photographed in the Madin Dam in Mexico's Atizapan de Zaragoza municipality.

The image was published on March 19th on the website of the local town hall.

Some believe that it shows a creature - described as a 'dinosaur' - that local legends say inhabits the waters of the lake and looks over the surrounding area as a kind of protector.

"At the request of the citizens, the Government of Atizapan de Zaragoza will carry out patrols in the surroundings of the place to clear up the mystery," the website states.
As things stand, no definitive explanation for the image has been forthcoming, though skeptics argue that the 'monster' is more likely to be an ordinary native species of animal that lives in the lake.

One possibility is that it is some sort of crocodile, though this has yet to be confirmed.

That is a manmade lake.  What we are looking at in the picture is the overflow drain.  It's a very large pipe and we are witnessing  the lake draining itself after apparently alot of rain runoff
