Man flies through the air after jumping into powerful water fountain

Seriously, don't stick your head in this thing... Image Credit: CC BY 2.5 Markus Bernet Capable of pumping 500 liters of water per second to an altitude of 460ft at 200 kilometers per hour, Geneva's iconic Jet d'Eau water fountain is undoubtedly a sight to behold.

It's also quite dangerous, which is why the area around it is cordoned off and heavily guarded.

This didn't stop one adventurous Swiss man from making his way past security so that he could, quite literally, place his head into the jet of water to see what would happen.The ill-advised stunt saw him thrown backwards with extreme force, but not content with the outcome, the man went back for a second go - this time in an attempt to move his whole body into the stream.

The resulting force saw him propelled several meters into the air, after which he came plummeting back down onto the concrete nearby.

The prankster tried to escape the police by jumping into the sea, but his efforts were futile.

He ultimately ended up in hospital due to the injuries he sustained from the fall.
