It seems we can't move for UFO movies these days and now yet another one is reportedly in the works.
Late last year we learned details about Steven Spielberg's upcoming UFO movie
Disclosure Day as well as the news that Joseph Kosinski - the man behind recent hits such as
Top Gun: Maverick - was also working on a new movie on a similar theme.
Now, according to reports, yet another director - Scott Cooper - is working on a UFO movie.
This time the film will focus on the Roswell incident - the infamous case of an alleged alien spacecraft that was said to have crashed on a ranch in New Mexico before being covered up by the military.
Cooper will be writing and directing the movie in collaboration with
20th Century.
Right now it isn't clear whether the film will be a straight up dramatization of the incident or if it will attempt to offer a new take on the mystery surrounding the case.
What's interesting is that Hollywood's interest in the UFO phenomenon seems to have come full circle since the 1970s and 1980s, when a string of high-profile movies - such as
Close Encounters of the Third Kind and
E.T. The Extraterrestrial - hit cinema screens.
Whether it's the recent congressional hearings on UFOs or if it just happens to be a profitable subject to make films about again, it seems that UFOs on the big screen are back - at least for now.
