Researchers allegedly find 'second Sphinx' beneath the Giza Plateau

At the time, their discovery was met with some considerable skepticism, with critics arguing that the team's interpretation of their radar readings was flawed and that their claims were premature.

Now, the same researchers are back again - this time with the claim that they have found a second Sphinx beneath the existing one.

According to Biondo, lines drawn from the pyramids to the Sphinx point to a mirrored location under which this previously undiscovered second Sphinx is thought to be buried.

"We are finding precise geometrical correlation, 100 percent of correlation, in this symmetry," he said during an appearance on the Matt Beall Limitless podcast."We are very confident to announce this... we have a confidence about 80 percent."

One long-running clue to the existence of a second Sphinx is the Dream Stele - found between the two paws of the existing Sphinx - which shows two Sphinx-like figures.

This has lead to speculation that there was (or still is) a second Sphinx somewhere.

Given the criticism surrounding Biondo's claims, however, it's difficult to know if he has actually found something of significance here or if this is a case of misinterpreted radar data.

If there really was a second Sphinx or a large underground complex beneath the Giza Plateau, it would be one of the greatest discoveries in all of archaeology.

All the more reason, then, to be cautious about such claims without verifiable, concrete evidence.
